Located in a restored eighteenth-century market house, Kildare Town Heritage centre tells the story of Kildare. Your host is Cogitosus, a seventh-century monk who leads an audio-visual journey from 480AD to the days when Kildare was ruled by Normans.
Built by the Norman Bishop Ralph of Bristol in 1223, Kildare Cathedral was built in the early gothic style with a square central tower. The grounds are home to a Celtic cross and a twelfth-century round tower, which offers panoramic views of the town and countryside.
The Irish National Stud is home to some of Ireland's finest and most famous racehorses. Join a guided tour of the farm, visit the state-of-the-art Horse Museum, and wander around the internationally acclaimed Japanese Gardens.
From March to October, the Curragh hosts the best flat racing in the country including all five Classic races – the Irish Guineas Festival, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, the Darley Irish Oaks and The Irish Field St. Leger.

Built between 1722 and 1729 for William Conolly, Speaker of the Irish House of Commons, and the wealthiest commoner in Ireland, Castletown House is one of the most important houses in the country. Admission to the house is by guided tour only.

Designed in 1741 by Richard Castle, this Palladian mansion is just a stone's throw from the Wicklow mountains. Sir Alfred and Lady Beit bought Russborough in 1952 to house their impressive art collection. They left this historic mansion to the Irish public in 1978.
