Kildare native Lisa Loughrey began her singing and songwriting career with Dublin based alt folk band, The Mariannes. In 2014, she was singled out for top honours in the inaugural Clancy Brother's Songwriting Competition for the track, Lost with All Hands. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength penning a number of tracks both for, and outside of, the group. One such track includes The Black Diary Waltz, which was released by The Mariannes in April 2016.
The track was featured on an RTE Radio 1 documentary about the life of Roger Casement and in numerous exhibitions celebrating the 1916 Rising. In conjunction with her role in The Mariannes, Lisa is currently working with multi-instrumentalist and producer Nathan Maher and upright bass player Damian McMahon on a collection of solo songs. The sound of this new material is grounded in roots genres.
Most recently, Lisa has been shortlisted for a Pure M Music Magazine Award for Best Female Solo Act 2017 to be announced on August 24th.
Lisa will perform in the Village on Friday 4 August at 13.00, 15.00 and 17.00 at the Oak Tree (Tommy Hilfiger).
