The Kildare Village Fashion Bursary launched in April 2016 as part of From The Isle, an exciting and ambitious new project at Kildare Village that weaves together diverse threads of Irish talent across fashion, craft, food and art.
The inaugural Kildare VIllage Fashion Bursary of €15,000 was awarded to designer Michael Stewart, to complete his two-year MA in Fashion Womenswear Design at the RCA. His place on the world-renowned course identifies him as one of Ireland’s most promising fashion talents to emerge on the international stage.
As part of a commitment to support the future of Irish fashion and develop the Kildare Village Fashion Bursary, we are excited to announce a very special Q&A event with revered RCA Head of Fashion, Zowie Broach, in conversation with Paula Reed, international Fashion Brand Direction Consultant.
This unique high-profile event exclusively for Irish students, industry and media will be hosted at Kildare Village on Friday, 14 October. The discussion will cover the challenges for Irish students entering the international fashion industry, in terms of education, commercial and creative routes, as well as the support available and typical obstacles. For updates and behind the scenes details of this event follow Kildare Village on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
In addition, Kildare Village is proud to present the second installation of ‘Work in Progress’ from Kildare Village Fashion Bursary student Michael Stewart. The installation will be on view and open to the public from Friday, 14 to Monday, 31 October in Só Collective at Kildare Village.
