In conjunction with Só Collective, a unique new home for Irish design, Kildare Village will host a series of ‘From the Maker’ demonstrations and evening talks with emerging and established Irish creatives throughout July and August. Each creative will showcase how traditional methods and contemporary design are brought together in their hand-crafted collections of homeware, furniture and lighting.
Our unique culinary programme showcases the very best of Irish food throughout July and August. It includes a complimentary series of tastings, talks, workshops and pop-up residencies from Ireland’s most talented food creatives and a bespoke restaurant trail with specially curated ‘From the Isle’ dishes and specially created barbecues each Thursday evening.
Kildare Village will be hosting ‘Sounds from across the Isle’ a performance series from Ireland’s leading traditional and contemporary musical talent throughout July and August. This will include exclusive performances from renowned artists such as The Whileaways and in-village showcases from Lismore Opera.

Meet a selection of the great producers whose food and drink features throughout the Village, including Brookfield Farm (producers of local honey and beeswax candles), Foods of Athenry (range of free-from produce) and Cider Ireland..
- Real Bread Rising, 2pm at Le Creuset
Patrick Ryan of Firehouse Bakery & Bread School and Real Bread Ireland demonstrates just how simple making real bread at home can be, and discusses the upcoming Sourdough September campaign with food writer Aoife Carrigy
- Free-Free Baking, 3.30pm & 5pm at Le Creuset
Siobhan Lawless of Foods of Athenry demonstrates some clever tricks for producing delicious gluten-free and vegan baking, and discusses with food writer Aoife Carrigy what got her started on her ‘free-from’ baking journey
Sunday 28 August
- Sourdough Demystified, 2pm at Le Creuset
William Despard of Bretzel Bakery & Real Bread Ireland demonstrates how to handle sourdough starters to ensure a perfect loaf, and discusses with food writer Dee Laffan what real sourdough bread is and how to spot the impostors.
- Grains, Seeds & Spuds, 3.30pm at Le Creuset
William Despard of Bretzel Bakery & Real Bread Ireland introduces some of his favourite ingredients to bake bread with, and discusses with food writer Dee Laffan the pros and cons of different kinds of flours.
