Round Tower & St Brigid’s Cathedral

St Brigid's Cathedral is thought to stand on the original site of the nunnery founded by St Brigid in the 5th century. The grounds of the gothic-style building contain a number of fascinating links to its early history including a 12th-century round tower, a Celtic cross and St Brigid's Firehouse.

In summer, it's worth climbing the 108-feet round tower, the second highest in Ireland, for the fabulous panoramic views of the town and countryside from Kildare Hill.
