Make Kildare Town Heritage Centre the starting point for exploring the cultural landmarks of Kildare.

Located in a restored 18th-century house, the exhibition centre tells the story of Kildare, past and present. Your host is Cogitosus, a 7th-century monk who leads a fascinating audio-visual journey through time from the days when Saint Brigid established her church in 480AD to when Kildare was raided by Vikings and ruled by Normans.

Then take a tour of the town's historical sites using the self-guided Heritage Trail or, in summer, join a guided walking tour.
